Whatever is in your brain right now. Whatever thought is on repeat. Whatever loop is on replay. Don’t overthink it. It’s there for a reason, but not the reason we may be thinking, hence the overthinking.
Write it down. Get it out of your head (literally!) Set it aside and tell yourself you’ll come back to it later. Pick it up again when you’re ready to sit with it and take action. The action might be sourcing out the root cause, giving yourself the gift of more time, patience and even more space. It might be talking about it with a loved one to just be heard and potentially gain some new perspective and clarity of next steps.
Absence does make the heart grow fonder as it’s said, but maybe absence of thought is the way to give our other senses the ability to weigh in and give their input. Maybe the heart wants to say a little more, maybe our body is giving us clues. Maybe the space created will give us all of the answers we need, just not in the way our overthinking thoughts were trying to.
Give yourself the permission to walk away, clear your head, breathe…and then see.
**My blog posts for the month of November are based around an idea I’ve had brewing for a while! To learn more about the why, I wrote about it in this post called hello beautiful. As always, thanks for being here, it’s really cool to be able to hang out in this way! Christy
